The September sun was shining as they ran, walked, swam and cycled over 370km in total. Participants took place all over the UK from Loch Ness to Nottingham and London. In total, they raised an amazing £3,219 for Redthread! We’re incredibly grateful for their dedication to supporting young people during such a difficult year.
‘Donating to a worthwhile cause was a positive thing to do in uncertain times’ – Race with Redthread participant
One of our Youth Ambassadors, Jake, was amongst #TeamRedthread. He ran an impressive 25km to celebrate 25 years of Redthread.
‘Having experienced the amazing work they do, I want to ensure more people have access to this work.’ – Jake
There was also a strong turnout from Redthread’s Young Women’s Team! Jess, Redthread’s Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Lead, took on her first 5km race to celebrate 2005 – the year that we started our first hospital-based Youth Violence Intervention Programme. Meanwhile, Young Women’s Worker, Fiona, took a scenic 25km route through London’s landmarks. Check out her pictures from the day below.
Thank you to #TeamRedthread and everyone who so generously donated. With the cancellation and postponement of many events this year, we are thrilled that #TeamRedthread were still able to take to the streets to raise vital funds for Redthread. Race with Redthread was our very first virtual event and we look forward to future challenges!
It’s not too late to show #TeamRedthread your support. You can find our JustGiving page here.
