Work for Redthread

If you are dynamic, driven and passionate about working for an organisation that helps young people live healthy, safe and happy lives, take a look at our vacancies listed below.

Youth Intervention Practitioner x3. Croydon, Lewisham, or Woolwich. c.£26,000 – £30,000 pa

We are looking for 3 Youth Intervention Practitioner’s to join one of our teams in either Croydon, Lewisham, or Woolwich.

As a Youth Intervention Practitioner based in the A&E department of one of these hospitals, you will support young people who are experiencing trauma or tragedy and their families. This is an exciting opportunity to develop a distinctive approach in local A&Es where we will see fewer cases of serious youth violence than in the Major Trauma Centres and meet more young people before they experience critical injury.

To do this well you need to be a people person; passionate about supporting young people, and excited at the prospect of working in a fast-paced and exceptionally busy environment. You’ll need a proven ability to work with high risk, vulnerable young people and an understanding of the impact intense, short term work can have.

You must be a strong communicator: as comfortable building a relationship with a young person as you are liaising with our clinical colleagues.  You’ll be keen to keep learning, seizing training opportunities at Redthread and continuously reflecting upon and improving your practice.

During the Covid-19 outbreak, our teams are working from home, still taking referrals from the hospitals and remote support to young people. We will go back to working in the hospitals when it is safe to do so and are in discussion with our clinicians about how to make this happen, but this role may begin working from home.

For full details on the role please click here to download the application pack.

To apply please fill in our Application form and Equality and Diversity Monitoring form and email them both to applications@redthread.org.uk by the closing date below.

On the application form, please list the hospitals in your order of preference for where you would like to work; you don’t have to include all three.

Closing Date: 10am, Monday 15 June 2020.

Online assessment: 24th June 2020.

Programme Coordinator, Lewisham – C. £23,100 – £25,200 pa

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is highly organised, enjoys collecting and reporting on data, and has the ability to form effective working relationships with a wide range of people.

The purpose of the role is to provide administrative support to the YVIP team, being responsible for data collection, monitoring referrals and report writing, and a key point of contact for the programme. Programme Coordinators are a key point of contact for the team within the hospital, and get to know the systems and staff really well.

During the Covid-19 outbreak, our teams are working from home, still taking referrals from the hospitals and remote support to young people. We will go back to working in the hospitals when it is safe to do so and are in discussion with our clinicians about how to make this happen, but this role may begin working from home.
