Work for Redthread

If you are dynamic, driven and passionate about working for an organisation that helps young people live healthy, safe and happy lives, take a look at our vacancies listed below.

Youth Intervention Practitioner x2, London (£27,000 p.a.)

Due to internal progression, we are currently advertising for two roles, part of our London Youth Violence Intervention Programme (YVIP) at either Homerton Hospital (Hackney) or St Mary’s Hospital (Paddington). As a Youth Intervention Practitioner based in one of the A&E departments, you will support young people who are experiencing trauma or tragedy and their families. You’ll be part of a team that is fully embedded in the hospital and that is highly valued by clinicians and community partners alike.

To do this well you need to be a people person; passionate about supporting young people, and excited at the prospect of working in a fast-paced and exceptionally busy environment. You’ll need a proven ability to work with high risk, vulnerable young people and an understanding of the impact intense, short term work can have.

You must be a strong communicator: as comfortable building a relationship with a young person as you are liaising with our clinical colleagues. You’ll be keen to keep learning, seizing training opportunities at Redthread and continuously reflecting upon and improving your practice.

During the Covid-19 outbreak, our teams are still working from the hospitals as we are classed as essential workers. You will need to do shifts at the hospital, as well as working some days from home, depending on the needs of the team and the service.

Please note: We are recruiting for two positions at different hospital sites. During the application process, you will be asked for your site preference.

Clinical Supervisor, London (15 hours/week, salary negotiable)

As a Clinical Supervisor based at Redthread’s Head Office in Victoria, you will provide our frontline staff, who support young people in A&E departments experiencing trauma or tragedy, with high quality clinical supervision, support and training all within the context of a trauma-informed practice so that they can undertake their roles safely and effectively.

To succeed in this role, you need to be a people person; able to create a safe, confidential space for front line practitioners to explore their work in a reflective and honest way, with a thorough knowledge and understanding of the physical, social and emotional developmental needs of children, adolescents and young people and the drivers and causes of youth violence.

You will be an advocate for a trauma-informed approach for the team and for the young people we support and have significant professional experience working with children and young people facing complex difficulties including serious youth violence and providing individual and group reflective practice to professionals experiencing stress and secondary trauma.

Please note that we are looking for a qualified and fully registered clinical qualification (Child, Adolescent/Family Psychotherapist, Psychologist etc).

This role is 15 hours a week (0.4FTE) preferably over two full days, and we are happy to consider both a part-time employee contract or a self-employed role, depending on the preference of the successful candidate.

The salary is negotiable, depending on skills and experience.
